I have been working for two and a half year without any vacation. Because I have no vacation time, I have not been able to see my family and friends in Haiti for years.

During the past couple of years, I have only missed work once. Every month, I send money home to my family in Haiti. I haven't visited them since I started working at my current job. I'm also supporting two Haitian girls who lost their parents some time ago. I consider them my sisters. I haven't seen them for over two years either.

I have filled up my free time working as a youth mentor with a neighborhood group. It makes me feel like a big brother.

It is difficult for me to live so far away from my family for so long and I hope that I will be able to take some time off and visit them soon.
